Candy pistol newbie question

I just acclimated and dropped in a candy pistol and yellow watchman. The pistol never made it down to the substrate. He found his way into the live rock about mid tank level. Will it eventually find it's way to the substrate, I'm hoping so he can pair up with the watchman.

He was just finding the quickest spot to get out of the open. They don't have great eye sight so thats why the pair with gobies. Hell make his way, The pair may take a little while or may be quick
