its a Canon EF 100m f/2.8 macro

honestly i know nothing about the models and what not. i bought this one because it had the highest rating and i wanted a new lens. i was gonna get the cheapo one for 400, but i read this one was much better. heres a link to the canon website

Correct, and it would also have a red ring around the lens and at your asking price would have been a STEAL! lol

I guess the old school 100mm Non L lenses are still available new. I didn't think they were. Even at a non L lens, yours is a great deal, at only 4 months old.
