Hello I was thinking about building a canopy to hang my lights on my tank. I was wondering after the canopy is built what should I do about the salt which may ruin the inside of the canopy over time?

just use high quality latex paint on the inside.

I made my canopy out of aluminum angle I get at home depot . It doesnt rust from the salt water .

My stand is metal also . I take patterned wall panel and tape magnets to it to cover the stand and canopy .

Been looking for ideas to make a hood/canopy and I like what you have. Could you post more details and be more specific on this build?

I built mine out of plywood and 1x2 furring strips. then to coat it. I used 2 coats of Danish oil and then 2 coats of Minwax Helmsman Semi-gloss Oil-based Spar Urethane Varnish.
