I’m about to start a new build and I am curious what people’s take is on canopy’s. Have they helped with light spill in the room?

I’ve always had open top tanks but wanted to help with the light spill in the room at the new house if I can, but I haven’t always been a huge fan of the canopy look. Anyone have any feedback or canopy inspiration they can share?

Planning on doing a 6’-8’ long x 30”-36” x 26-28” tall tank on a 36” stand.

My choice was to go with custom lid w/ evap cover then 3d print shades for the overhanging lights. Hard to flex on people with your Radions if theyre in a hood lol...jk.

I have a canopy on mine for light spill, jumpers and to hide equipment but its only 40 gallons. An 8'x3' tank canopy would be awesome for storage ...and a loft bed on top.

I have a canopy because my wife likes it better that way 😀

If I open my canopy when my wife is watching television, the light coming out is not preferred. lol
