Advice needed…

I have done a fair amount of reading regarding dosing carbon. My notates continue to hover around 32-45 ppm even with skimmer , changing filter socks every 2 days and bi-weekly water changes.

i believe that vodka would be the easiest for me. I have read that 1ml for 27 gallons is a good place to start. I currently dose klak in a DIY dropper system. Is it ok to add the vodka to the kalk mixtiure or should I dose separately?

65 gallon DT. 20 gallon sump.

Why not use vinegar as your carbon source?
It’s cheap and mixes well with kalk.
it will also allow you to dose more kalk.
When I add vinegar to my mix it allows me to add 3
Spoonful of kalk instead of 2.

I too like vinegar, but you can mix vodka into kalkwasser.

I personally prefer to dose organic carbon during the day when O2 and pH are high, because it tends to use up some O2 and lowers pH a bit.

Thanks for the input, what type of vinegar? White/brown or distilled? What should the volume be? (MLS per gallon)
