My tank has been set up for 16 months now with all established live rock. Here are my parameters.
Salinity 1.026
Temp 78
Alk 7.2
Cal 450
Mag 1350
Po3 around 50
Po4 .02 to .05
I just started very slowly vodka dosing to get my nitrates down. I’m 1 week in to this. Am I doing the right thing trying to get things back in balance?

I think that's a personal question.

You are doing it one way ;)

Have you tried other ways yet or is this the first attempt? I understand it's your first time vodka dosing but is this the first thing you have tried to lower it?

Not sure which part you mean is playing with fire. It all sound fine to me. It may take another couple weeks to see results though. Be patient and keep it up.
