How do you know your carbon filter is "expired" already? How many stages are you running it through?
In my previous house I ran my RODI after my water softener without any issues.

Did you test the water after carbon block? They usually last at a minimum of 6 months. Are you using 1 micron or 5 micron?
Jen had a video discussing checking of carbon block. Can’t find it. But you can pick these up to be sure.

I just received my bulk reef supply reverse osmosis plus system 75gpd. I am only showing 40psi after the membrane, however this is before all the 1 micron filters

added a whole house water filter before the carbon, pulled all the old salt out and put in iron out and forced regen, replaced carbon... still turning orange as fast as it was before the whole house filter was added. this is in one hour!

So from R/H picture to left: sediment, carbon block, carbon block, ro membrane, to valve to to switch for drink to DI. The hose goes around to to the left of the DI. So left to right DI resin to to Di resin. Then out to buckets. Make sure you have valve to to di canister to isolate it. This enables you to close valve and flush ro membrane for 60 seconds before use and 60 seconds after use. Extends the life of ro membrane.

Whelp, I'm glad the mystery has been solved! At least you can buy some bulk DI resin and refill it after you get it in the right order.
Refilling your own DI resin is the best way to go. Just make sure you pack it really, really tight.

I am glad that the problem has been solved. You should be good to go now :)

With having the hole house system before the RO/Di system will also help with preserving you DI resin. FYI well water can also us up the DI resin without a pre filter.
