Welcome to R2R. Honestly carbon dosing requires measuring nitrates and phosphates then dosing accordingly. Take it slow because you can easily strip your tank and that becomes a problem. I personally use sugar/sucrose but everyone has their own preference. It works on a mature tank but can cause bacterial blooms in a new tank. These blooms can strip the oxygen out of the tank and cause other problems like an ammonia spike. Like I said it does work but start small. Keep in mind we measure parts per million so dose with parts per million in mind.

Hi @FBAA I THINK the OP is referring to the C02 regulator with the brand name "Carbon Doser" and not actually dosing carbon, I could be wrong though.

Hi @FBAA I THINK the OP is referring to the C02 regulator with the brand name "Carbon Doser" and not actually dosing carbon, I could be wrong though.
