So I got a Foxface to try to alleviate my valonia infestation. So far it eats frozen mysis and krill just fine, but ignores all of the algae, including nori. It's a very active fish and from all I can tell is definitely a Foxface, but I've never heard of something like this. Any way to tempt it to eat algae? I've cut back on feeding with one cube of frozen every other day and some tiny pellet food daily.

I would just give it some time, feed a little less, try different types of algae, and it might start eating it. But if it doesn’t, there’s nothing you can do about it. If it doesn’t want to it eat it just doesn’t want to eat it.

Try some algae based pellets like seaweed extreme or NYOS to get it in the diet. Keep feeding nori and maybe it will try it eventually. Could try the rods food algae sheet variety pack for a few different types too?

I purchased a juvenile foxface about 8 months ago, it just started eating algae and picking on the bubble algae.
I was in your shoes back then, frustrated and confused on why it was doing its job

Lo's are pigs period. If getting it introduced to the valonia is your main concern just slowly start knocking some of the bubbles off the rocks and into the water column. Once it gets the taste it will seek the rest out.
