Stichodactyla haddoni... This blue carpet anemone would be over 20 inches if It could fully flaten out. It seems to get its biggest the next day after feeding it. I feed it one chopped up, deshelled shrimp from the seafood market twice per week.

If you are considering buying a carpet anemone, there's a few things you should know.

First: It's best to buy one at an LFS so you can see it in person. Most carpet anemones come from the wild with bacterial infections. It's best to buy one that has been QTd with Cipro and has been in captivity for a couple of months.

Second: A sticky carpet anemone is a healthy carpet anemone. Their sting is so strong that it can cause allergic reactions in some people. I have to wear gloves when handling them.

Third: They will kill anything other than Clownfish and some damsel species that have the misfortune of swimming into them. They've been known to eat tangs, butterflies, and large Angelfish.

Forth: Their foot is extremely strong. It can move large rocks. So if your aquascape isn't secure, you risk rocks falling and hurting the anemone.

Awesome post, beautiful nem. definitely agree with a sticky is nem is a healthy nem. I have a Ritteri, so similar. It’s so sticky that it even sticks to metal tongs at times. If it touches my hand or arm I get welts for couple weeks and sometimes skin that comes off. I call it my wife’s little devil (little hah). These are beautiful creatures
