I am looking for a colorful and active fish for my Nuvo 40. The only other fish in the tank currently are a pair of clowns that are currently in an acclimation box. I want something that can spend it's whole life in this size tank, and it needs to be reef safe. I would prefer it to not be too difficult to care for. What would you put in this tank if it were yours?

Do you have any particular species in mind? I've been looking into them and can't seem to settle on one lol

The problem is the tank is only 2 feet long so that eliminates a fairy or flasher wrasse, if it were the dimensions of a 40 breeder he would probably be okay. Royal Gramma Basslet is what I would recommend for the OP's tank.

Starkii damsel... All the color of a dwarf angel but reef safe and hardy.

If wanted a lot of color. An tanaka wrasse will feel at home in a 2 foot tank. They are usually a bit cryptic but when first added, but as long as their tank mates are peaceful, will grow more bold over time.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
