ceramic tile sump baffles

I seen it mentioned in someone's post that ceramic tiles can be used for sump baffles. I have a 45g tank that I'm going to make a sump out of. Was checking out about having glass cut or cutting myself. Well I have some leftover 18" ceramic tiles and a wet saw to cut them; so this would be great for me. My only question is could there be any bad leaching from the tile finish? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I kicked around the idea of making a background of tile. I eventually went a different way, but according the Joey, tile is fish safe.
