Anyone ever considered adding one as a mechanical prefilter in the sump? 200 micron mesh.(apart from me)

I wonder how it would work in a saltwater environment.
I have ordered some 200 micron nylon mesh so I guess we are gonna find out.
I wont be using it as a primary filter because I will have a large settlement chamber before it but I have high hopes.. If they work on 10,000 gallon ponds,a 100 gall reef tank should be a piece of cake.

Just found this old thread, and I am thinking the same thing, should work great with some minor up dates.

Did you go thru with installing sieve?

What brand did you go with and how many metal parts did you change out?
