Recently I had fragged out my Oregon Mummy Eye. There was an area on my mother colony that had no polyps so I decided to frag it off and see if it would sprout "eyes". Its been about two weeks and I believe this frag is sprouting polyps left and right!!

I count eight I believe? Maybe more. I'll post progression photos.

Nice! I've always wondered if it was necessary to have eyes when making chalice frags. Can you cut through the eyes too?

Yes I have had a half eye heal before. Now I have done this before a while ago but not as big of a frag and it wasted a way.

Very cool! I have heard that if you want to get a chalice to sprout new eyes just take a sharp razorblade and make incisions where you want eye's to be. I've never tried it though.

Thats a new one on me Chris? I may try that with a cheap ugly frag..LOL!

Progression photo update! Looks like Im counting 15 "eyes"!

Super frag!! At this rate this little frag will have more eyes than my mother colony!

From nothing to 11+ polyps!! Eyes are starting to color up!

Im editing the first post with progression shots every few days.

Edited to reflect our post at same time that answered my question lol
