Hi Everyone, I’m looking for a little info. Opinions welcome. I’ve been told that I should periodically change the substrate in my reef tank to keep the buffering capacity. Is this true? And if so how the heck is it accomplished without messing up the balance in my tank? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks people
Ev

That's one of the silliest things I've ever heard. I suppose you might lose a very small amount from overly aggressive water changes that would need to be replaced but otherwise, um, no.

Thanks so much. I thought that was one of those “say, what?” things but I wanted to be sure. Appreciate the help.
