So long story short a friend asked me to do a piece in charcoal. On canvas! This isn’t a common practice and I was very curious what it would look like. I have been told I need a medium to give me the grit I need and it’s not exactly forgiving. I was playing around while waiting on my ride to wake up and doodled this guy right fast. I must say, I like it! Gives it a different look and feel. The piece I will do won’t have fish but since I’m more comfortable with animal pieces it felt the right thing to sketch out. He seems kinda happy to be on canvas, don’t you think? I may toss a nem around him and finish filling in the canvas just so it’s not a total waste.

Yes. The texture for coral would be beautiful!

Nope. It's terrible. You should get it out of the house immediately! PM me and I'll give you the address to send it to. ;) Total waste? I think it's amazing the way it is. The canvas seems to lend a certain depth that is striking. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Haha thank you! The canvas is rather large, 16x20. The clown is only about 7 or 8 inches so it’s a total void around him right now.
