chefs 30 gallon RE-build

here is the link to that tank that I had to tear down.Oh boy that was a disaster i am still cleaning up after it. Well it was a 55 with a sump, and is for now a 30 gallon barebottom with 35 or so pounds rock, and all the frags and fish from my previous tank except 1.:wave:

well everything seems to be doing great except for my candy cane. I think i have too much flow in my tank now. it seems to be shrinking down. I t was growing like a weed before i had to tear down my tank

almost have my 50 gallon ready to set back up. I have built the stand and a matching canopy, trimmed with beadboard and it looks sweet. i even overbuilt the stand to fit a 90 gallon ...lol a few pics

Im working on the drain setup, i dont have anything purchased yet, no overflow box or plumbing parts yet. I do have a 1" hole in the back of my tank which im debating drilling larger or just adding another hole for a second bulkhead.

bought my sump tank, and salt, overflow fittings and all the pvc to plumb it all up, getting close

:tongue1:failure!! Trying to catch a little more clearance on the bulkheads I trimmed off half of the threads with my chop saw. Now after installing on the tank, i realize I had cut off the slip portion of the fitting and the bulkheads are now ruined.I cant belive the fitting is not the same diameter on the inside all the way through, it gets fat right in the middle of the fitting. Lifeguard aquatics fitting. back to the shop tomorow to drop another 20 bucks lol

out to get more bulkheads and........shoot the LFS is out, and none within 90 miles driving distance, time to hit Amazon

and TIP!!! do not cut the any of the threaded portion off your bulkheads lol

K lol...puttin gmy sump together i realize the guy from lowes cut my glass the wrong size!! i gave him a list of 4 specific sizes, 7x11 3/4, 7 1/2 x 11 3/4, 8 1/2 x 11 3/4 and 10 x 11 3/4. He cut me 4 pieces 7 x 11 3/4. so 1 out of 4 was correct.
Returning them the lady at the customer service was not going to refund me, i had to explain to the manager how his guy didnt follow the instructions. Totally not my fault. anyways back home now putting my sump together.

Oh and i almost forgot to sand the top edge of the baffles, dont wanna cut my fingers hehehe. all set for now
