Hi All,

Has anyone else had problems with running chemi-pure elite and their GSP. My GSP had closed up when I started running chemi-pure elite.
It's been maybe 4 days that my GSP is closed. Nothing else changed in the system except swapping chemi-pure blue for elite.
My nitrates and phosphates are 0 and salinity is 1.024.

In my experience, GSP likes a little dirty water and will not thrive without any nutrients.

I had 0 nitrates and am currently overfeeding to try to raise them a little.

You definitely don't want your water too clean for softies.

My toadstool leather, mushroom and chalice seem fine. I introduced chemi pure elite to battle green hair algae that is slowly starting on my rocks.

So you would not say that there is a connection between chemi pure elite and GSP closing?

I wish it were that simple to kill GSP. I am using chemipure elite also and had no effect at all.

maybe you should let me work on your tank, lol ;Joyful

I looked around internet and I didn't see anyone asking this question but I did see people having gsp closed even for a week.

Just a follow-up on this thread. It turned out that I had a bad thermometer and my temperature was 75 degrees. When I bumped up the temperature to 77, GSP opened up.
