So I am wondering what you guys think Of chemi-pure, I have had mine in my ank for close to 6 months, never replaced it, starting to make me nervous. I would like the opinions of you guys and your experience with it. Thanks in advance.

So you have a bag in your tank that you have not replaced in 6 months? Just remove it as it is well past its lifespan and is no longer giving you any benefits and actually could be a nutrient sink! I believe they should be replaced monthly if I recall

No just the same bags in my sump for 6 months makes me nervous..... Should I leave it? I honestly can't tell it does anything, I don't see any more polyp extension than before or anything like that.....

I am confused, you mean the carbon bags? If I used it I would change it out at least monthly.. 4-6 months will have definitely spent the bag. I would always recoomend using carbon... you didn't see the tank look a bit clearer Captain?

Chemi-pure is pretty good stuff. The directions say that it is good for up to 6 months.

I use to use Chemi-pure all the time when i first started my tank....slowly i realized that just a bag of carbon and some GFO would basically do the same thing...but i saw decent results with them...just replace when needed.

Chemi-pure isn't cheap but it's pretty good. For it's price though it's worth it to just get a reactor and something like ROX (Reactor friendly) carbon.

I recently won some in a raffle at my reef club meeting. I thought it was just fine carbon, but people are saying that GFO & carbon would replace it. Does it absorb phosphates as well?

I used it way back in the way back. I don't know if it was specifically from the chemi pure, but my parameters were always spot on.

I believe that the Chemi-Pure is only carbon, whilst the "Chemi-Pure Elite" contains GFO as well.

IMO, these are great for nanos, but really aren't cost-effective for a larger tank that can accommodate a reactor.
