Somehow turn down the flow or air or even both for a while. I run a 3 pump skimmer & shut off a pump or 2 starting back up.

How many WC needed to get the skimmer back to skimming?
I've done 2x 20 litre changes on a 120ltr tank.
Also have a bag of charcoal running
You have to wet skim the residual chemical out of the tank. Each cup you skim out add a cup of salt water so your salinity stays good.

Skimmer is at min and I have restricted the air flow in. Cup still fills in minutes but skim is clear
is it at correct water height in the sump?
Also try blowing through the muffler tube to see if clogged

It's still skimming out residual chemicals. It won't be dark smelly like normal skim. Might take half dozen cups or more to clean out the left over chemiclean.

If it’s creating a lot of bubbles, great. Take the cup off and place it back on but not level or flat. Tilt it so the water and air mixture doesn’t build. Check it in a couple of days. The skimmer will still create yuck in the cup. Push it back down level.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
