Good Morning Reefers and friends

I have a question I have a small 20 gal long , wondering if adding a larger chemipure blue for 75 gal into the 20 gal system throw anything off. got a case of them as a gift but they are all for 75 gallon tanks

there is a reason items like this are measured by volume/tank size/bioload. although i am unaware of the potential risks of "sizing up", i'd rather avoid any potential issues by sticking to the appropriate sized media amount for your tank.

I don't use this stuff so I'm not sure, but couldn't you open the pouch and divide the stuff into 2 pouches? Mesh baggies from amazon should work. I buy activated carbon in bulk and use mesh baggies.

Personally, I would pick up a spare media bag or two and split the media into three, or maybe, four portions to use. Be sure to split both the black carbon and the white resin into sections. Not only would it be wasteful to put that much media in a twenty all at once but I would be concerned that the amount of resin in an 11oz bag might drop your phosphate too far too quickly.

This is not a bad idea and I’m pretty sure chemipure blue is mostly carbon anyway right?

great information , ill just buy the smaller tank dose

Ask your LFS if they will give you credit for them or do a 1 for 1 swap with you for the smaller size.

just ordered a case of the smaller ones, thinking about getting a bigger setup so ill just save those
