I'm would like to install a chiller under my tank in the basement. I'm planning to put it on a shelf about 3' under the sump. Can I just put a pump in the sump and pump the water down and back up again? Thanks

When installing a chiller, the first thing to note is that the chiller needs to be well ventilated. A chiller works by taking the heat out of the water and then venting it into the air surrounding the chiller. If the chiller is in some kind of cabinet, then it won't effectively vent the hot air. I am not sure what kind of shelf you have, just make sure that it has space and open air around it for the chiller to properly vent.
The most common way to install a chiller is to run your return line through the chiller. The line runs from the return pump through the chiller and then back to the main display.
