Chimera clams are a color variation of Maxima clams that have two separate colors. They occur very rarely in the wild, about 1 in every 5 million. These are cultured clams and occurence rate has not been determined in farmed clams. However, these are the first we have obtained from the farm and we have imported thousands of clams over the years.

Both clams, especially the second one, do open more. These are still extremely reactive to shadows and vibrations.
