Hello everybody!
Well, new year, new aquarium. . i picked the new tank this week (01/20/2013), and we are in the process of tidying up the transfer tank, which will be on 26/01.

System Objectives: to create a well balanced open scaped tank with plenty of swimming room and lots of places for sps
System Type: Mixed Reef but mainly SPS

DISPLAY SYSTEM & SUMP

Display Tank: 5ftx2ftx2ft eurobraced with external rear overflow in starphire
Display Lighting: ATI Powermodule 8x54w
Stand: solid wood cabinet stained dark
Hood: Hood-less
Sump: 3ftx 1.5.1.5 3 sections
Refugium: cryptic refuge
Refugium Lighting: cryptic fuge (no light).

SUPPORT SYSTEMS

Chiller: Hailea 300a
Dosing pumps : Bubble Magus BM- T01
Bio Pellets Reactor: JNS Alpha 2
UV: UV Sterilizer 36W
System Water: natural salt water
Display Water circulation: 3 MP40 WES
Return Pump: old crappy one
Skimmer: RLSS R8-i (great skimmer)
Evaporation Top Up: Tunze ATU
Chemical Support: Randy's recipe - Calcium Addition: 100% reef safe
Alkalinity Addition: 100% reef safe
Other Chemical Maintenance: Magnesium
Sand: Caribsea Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand 30 kg

ok guys it has been past due its time for a update

Lights have been changed to ATI hybrids and the tank is a sps doninated runing ULN
pics speak louder so i will just add a heap feel free to ask any questions









 
Wow is all I can say. I'm a newbie and trying not to get depressed over all the fantastic tanks when mine looks like a featureless blob next to them. I know I will get there (not to the scale you are) and I'm happy to start small. Thanks for sharing all the pics so I get more of an idea of the things that can go into a reef tank. :)
 
How did I miss this beautiful reef!! Love it!

dont get depressed it just takes time and dedication. more then happy to show my tank to fellow reef nerds
