Newer to the hobby and trying to do things right. I use ocean water and RO/DI I get from the LFS. Can I use my city tap water to rinse test vials or other items I use in the tank. How worried should I be washing my hands in the sink and putting them in the tank? Does the chlorine from the tap carry over in enough amounts to worry? I know not to use city water in the tank.

There is no concern of some tapwater from washing hands getting into the tank. Any chlorines or chloramines from those drops will be broken down immediately. Even rinsing equipment with tapwater is perfectly find just shake it off and throw it in.

For test vials I rinse with rodi and then fill with rodi and then cap and store the vial full as that seems to keep any reside from building up and keeps the glass nice and clear.
