Clams have been my favorite invert since I got into this hobby an untold number of years ago (I try not to do that math, but it’s breached 2 decades). I’ve had my success stories and failures. About 4 years ago my collection was wiped out (origin unknown, but I lost two 8” squamosa and an 8” deresa) and I went without for a while. Last year I got a gigas when they were offered by ORA. It was doing well, so I’ve added to it. I’ve had the gigas for about 16 months, where it has grown from 1.5” to 8”, I have a 4” deresa for about a year in my possession, a 3” blue maxima for about the same time, and these last few months I’ve added two more deresa, another maxima, a noae, and a crocea. I will post them in that order. Most of them are in my refugium/mangrove tank so I can watch them for signs of trouble, but I recently added the larger deresa to the main display (forgive the image of that one).
Anyways, thought some folks would enjoy the eye candy. The spotted deresa was a unique find, I hope it thrives. Both the new deresas are quite small at under 2”.
