Clam died, are these what did it?

hey guys are these snails clam eaters? Don't know where they hiked from....

yes. those are pyramid snails. Get a melanurus wrasse, or another Halichoeres wrasse. They will get rid of them for you.
They usually hitch hike in on other snails.

You can also freshwater dip them and clean them with a toothbrush, I do this with all my clams before they go in my tanks.

There's a chance they are pyrams, but from that picture it's impossible to tell for sure. They could also be Rissoids.

If you can get to a microscope, you'll be able to tell. If you want to stick it between some duct tape and stick it in an envelop, you could also send it to me to ID.

Thanks for the offer lionfish! And thank you for all of the responses. I wasn't home over the weekend and my clam had a gaping mouth and viewing from the bottom foot I could see organs in the clam. I just tossed it last night before it fouled up the tank. Thought it was my parameters until I saw a bunch of these snails on the front glass which means there are probably tons more in there

If pyramids were the culprit they would be present near the base on the clam during the day and move up at night. Check your larger snail types, if you find the snail on them then they are pyramids.
