Sorry if this has been answered, but I couldn't find any information on it...

I have heard that Clams do not do well under LEDs. Is this true for all clams?

I currently have Cree LEDs over my 14g Biocube and have had a clam in it for about 4 months. It has grown and kept its color nicely, but I want to make sure that this is not just temporary because if so I will definitley be finding it a new home.

I also want to know because I am in the process of a new build and will be running AI units over it.

Thanks!

First I must say that I dont have Led's....yet. They are on order. I have heard all sorts of stuff like this. I dont know where it comes from, the numbers dont support it. Just dont get some that are meant to be moon lights. Appropriate Leds should do great with clams. Ask Troylee about his Leds and acros, he loves em.

The AI's should be great

Don't know who spreads these rumors, but they're false. Under the bluer colors they don't look as lively as the whiter lights, but that's the case with other blue lights as well. Been keeping clams with LEDs since October....and they're not even the AI. Just chinese knockoffs.

I've had my Crocea under LEDs for about a year and it seems to love them.

Mine is growing well. The Crocea is at about 5 inches and has a nice growth band.

5 maximas and counting under Evolution 120 watt 20k LEDs. Had them for going on a year under LED in all placements from sandbed to top 6 inches in a 24 inch deep tank with the lights 8 inches off the water. I've had no loss of color and excellent growth so far.

Three Amigos! The blues I've had just shy of a year and the B&W is a new
