I just got a small Valintini Puffer and my LfS suggested I feed clams on the half shell. My question is how long should I allow the clam stay in the tank?

When I get clams, I freeze them. Now they are easy to open and then what I do is cut off just enough clam to feed the tank, and the remaining clam goes back into the freezer in a small baggie.

I was told the shell is important for the puffer to trim their beak?
