The filter sock chamber in my sump (WB Peninsula 4820) is 7.7" x 9.4". The footprint of the SK-5000 is 5.7" x 10" including the plastic hang-on part.

Does anyone have experience slightly modifying the SK-5000 to fit it in a smaller space? Its so close, I'd rather go with the SK-5000 over the smaller SK-3000 unit.

Thanks in advance for any tips/insights.

Tight but probably doable with the hangers removed. I have mine sitting on an egg crate platform and there is about ¼ to ½ an inch between the intake fitting and the side if the sump. How you attach it to your plumbing may affect the overall space needed.

This is reassuring. Thanks for sharing photos.
