Clay reef rock

So being an art teacher with my own kiln... i was wonderingif i co ld make reef rock. Has anyone tried this? Will tthe fired clay leach anything into the water ?

Depends on the composition of the clay in question. Many of the frag plugs are kiln dried with no detrimental affects at all to our reefs.

Most frag plugs and artificial reef rock are made of aragocrete which is crushed coral sand and Portland cement. As of clay you use in a art setting I’m not sure

I don't know anything about types of clay but reef safe ceramic items are all over the place.

I'm sure with a little more research you'll find the right stuff.
