So I added a
Cleaner shrimp to my DT a week ago.
By the next morning he was missing a bunch of his feelers, but I hoped that it was just an initiation by the fish in the tank.

A few days later he molted like normal. And several days after that I I found him half eaten in the morning :(

My question is..
He came from my QT where he was with my fire shrimp for 45 days.
He was the more skittish one while my fire shrimp is bigger and chased him away whenever he wanted his space lol.

I wanna know what people’s thoughts are, on if it’s gonna be possible to move my fire shrimp to the DT or not..

Could the cleaner have just died, did it become a food target when it molted and all the fish got to eat his molt plus he was softer from molting so was easy prey.
Or will the stronger fire shrimp be safer in there?

I have a butterfly that likes to eat anything he can. From ripping through anenomies to pecking at snails and starfish.
I also have a decent sized flagfin angel that likes pecking too as well as a green spotted puffer.
There are other fish too in there but these are my top 3 suspects lol

It was probably the puffer or butterfly imo. What other fish do you have in there?

It definitely could have died and the fish ate it afterwards but it’s more than likely that fish attacked it.

Fire shrimps are just as strong as regular cleaners.

I was hoping the fire would be stronger :)
I think he’ll just have to be the resident for my invert QT..

Thanks!

Puffers eat shrimp, he will probably eat that blood shrimp too
