Hi everyone,

I'd like to ask how often a cleaner shrimp normally molts. I bought a pretty small cleaner around 2 weeks ago and it has molted twice already.
Tank is close to a year old and I feed the little guy almost everyday because it's hiding in the back where it doesn't get a lot of food floating by.

Thanks in advance.

It varies and I'd say from my experience at least once a month until they get pretty large where it might slow down to 6-8 weeks. Small specimens may molt more frequently if they are growing fast..

If really small then more often as they grow, mine is around every 4 weeks as it’s a little bigger now.

Is it a cleaner shrimp? Keep an eye on it as mine have all been quite confident and will come out looking for food, but I do feed it daily anyway as it’s only in a small tank.

Try and feed daily if it’s not coming out as they stop feeding for a day before molting and another day after molting so it will need a good supple of food.

Yeah, it didn't want to eat yesterday and I found its molt this morning. Right now it is hiding somewhere in the rockwork, will feed it once it's done hiding. Thanks!

yeah it will be waiting for it’s new shell to harden, it’ll be ready for a good feeding in a day.
