Cleaner Skunk Shrimp Cost.. wow

These are wild caught animals from the Indo Pacific. There are no significant aquaculture programs established for the species. Natural resources are finite! There are more things at play here than your local aquarium store trying to gouge you to cover their insurance or electric bill. Just Sayn

i wasnt blaming LFS's... definitely environmental factors, the economy, greed after covid when prices on everything went up.. corporate greed

i just wanted to be nostalgic of the days.. only a few years ago when i could get a cleaner skunk shrimp for only 25 dollars at a LFS. now its 55$ or above everywhere i look near me in virginia. i feel like im just going to maintain what i have and replace with cheaper fish as some die eventually. i know everything is more expensive but this hobby was already expensive haha. thanks for reading my venting rant. i hope you all are enjoying your tanks as i do.

Australians must have some sourcing issues... the closest store to me's price.

(In $AUS, however I think inflation is definitely real).

Yeah most cleaner shrimp are found in deep in the ocean here in Australia, I got my first cleaner shrimp for $180 a couple of years ago, I have seen people captive breeding them but for a similar price as the wild caught, I don't think it's worth buying cleaner shrimps here in Australia because they don't live long and the price is just too high.
