So the last time I ordered a cleaning crew, I suddenly had an oubreak of ich and lost a lot of fish. I need to add to my crew as a lot have not made it. How do you quarantine clean up crew as well as shrimp? I know, from what I have researched, that you cannot us cupramine or copper as it will kill them. Help please.

You have to keep them in a separate system without fish for 76 days for any parasites to starve out and die off.

Yep just simply hold them in a system that doesn't contain fish for 76 days and they are good to go!

No need for any meds (inverts wont tolerate meds anyway)

The parasite stage that attaches to the shell of an invert is the tomont stage that is releasing free swimmers looking for a fish to host. So the absence of fish breaks the cycle of the parasites and they die off and you then have ich free CUC! :)

Just ordered a small bunch of critters for CUC in my 180.

This is my order:
12 blue leg, 10 Trochus snails, 10 nassarius snails, 10 Cerith snails, 1 emerald crab, 5 red tip crabs, 2 Mexican turbos, 4 fighting conches.

I fought Ick, in my 100G system and lost some fish. I complete a 76 day QT on my fish, with on and off treatments of prazi & cupramine, on 02/01/20. So my rock, corals, and sand should be ick free and have moved to the new 180.

I have a 40G breeder (bare bottom) with a bunch of my big soft corals ( No Fish) that may or may not make it back to the new display DT. This is where I intend to put the new CUC I have coming for a 76 day QT.
Here are my real questions:
- I have a bunch of sand dwellers coming, so do I need to add sand for them?
- Best way to feed the CUC?
- Best food to feed the CUC?

As always thanks for the feedback in advance!!

Some more to this, I had a pretty decent CUC in the tank I fallowed for 76 days however they had a sand bed and the tank was heavily stocked with fish before they went to QT. Ghost fed frozen food every now and then and everyone did well.
