I'm planning to move my live rock out of one tank and into a new larger tank. Should I lightly scrub off the algea I have on some of the rock before I put it in the new tank, or do I run the risk of spreading that to other parts of the rock that do not have algea. The rocks have coral on them, the corals are still young and not covering a large portion of them for what that's worth. Thanks in advance for your insight.

I would pull, not scrub. If it can’t be pulled, then I would find a more appropriate action to take.
