Quick question what is the proper way to clean live sand? I'm moving so instead of going out and buying new sand I'd rather just clean the sand I have now.

Rinse it extremley well and you should be good to go, of course you will be starting a new cycle but I see know reason why you should need to buy new sand.

Rinse it til it runs cleans water out of it. As long as you kep the Live Rock wet your tank will go through a mini cycle, but nothing harmful, and its usually pretty quick.

I would have a 5 gallon bucket in hand to place as much sand as you in the bucket. Like that you can start up your cycle again once you are done moving. If you have the time rise the sand well and let it dry in the sun. Helps to get rid of unwanted pest and helps to cut back the smell of the sand.

Are you trying to keep it alive for the move?
