Hello,

I've had my tank for a bit over 7 months now, and I’ve been notice these white fussy things growing around my tank, I thought they might be sponges. Even if they are, I don’t like where they are growing because they cover polyps on my GSP and grow on the sides of my euphylia. One just popped up on a rock so I came here hoping to find some info on what this is before it gets too bad? Any ideas are appreciated!

I super faintly circled the places I’m highlighting In the photos.

Sponges like the ones you have are typically found in new tanks with high silicate content from the new sand. What type of water are you using? If it's high in silicates, you might need special DI resin to remove them.
