Cloudy tank

Cycling my tank, fishless. Im on week 3 and the water is very cloudy. Is this normal as the nitrifying bacteria grow and settle?

In my experience, cloudiness can be due to an ammonia spike. Best thing would be to perform a parameter test & share the results to help others give suggestions. Along with a quick background on the tank & picture.

Normal during cycling. This will go away as your bio-system settles down

Do you have any filter floss like socks or sponges to trap free floating debris????

Check your filter socks & pads, see if they are dirty/clogged with sediment to the point of not trapping debris.

Random question, what sand did you use? I used Caribsea dry argonite, and my tank was foggy forever. It was the first time I started completely dry, and I don't care how much you wash that sand it will be cloudy. It took many water changes to fix.
