Made some RODI water on sunday. I always make about 12 gallons at a time. Have a 60 gallon tank and change around 8 to 10 gallons a week cause i feed heavy. Didnt do my regular water change this weekend cause i was testing my stability. Wasnt seeing any movement in parameters in display so figured id give it an extra week to see how things are going. Had wife add some of the salt to my agitated brute where i mix my water to prep things for when i hot home to do a water change. Thing is the newly mixed water was cloudy as heck several hours after adding the salt.never had this issue begore, havent changed brand but was a new bucket of salt. Have done this procedure before with no issues. So what gives? Seperation of solids in mix? Dump whole brute and start again? Gonna test the newly mixed stuff and see if that tells me anything.

Sounds like it may be precipitating. How are you measuring salinity and have you double checked it's accuracy lately?

Is there any indication of settling or clumping in the powdered mix?

Once your batch of saltwater is mixed you should refrain from heating or further mixing while it's in storage.

What salt mix? You certain it was salt and not something else that was added?

Assuming it was salt, I'd just let it settle and measure alk. Assuming it is reasonable, i'd just use it.

Kept the flow going and it was settled this morning. I think my wife may have forgotten till the last minute and added.it.just.before i got home.

Does wife and husband follow the same procedure for adding salt to RO water?
