Hi all,

I got this clove polyp for free a few weeks ago and it has been doing great. Yesterday I noticed that the polyps were closed and look wilted. They closed up normally at night but this morning they look the same. My tank is about 3 months old and I have started to get some diatoms on the sand and rocks. Could diatoms irritate the polyps and make it look like this? It has been in the same spot since I got it and in a relatively low flow area.

Parameters:
ph 7.8
Alk 7.7
Phos 4ppb/0.012 ppm
Nitrate 6.1ppm
Ammonia 0
Salinity 1.026
Temp 79F

Thank you!

Diatoms can irritate and kill corals they grow on.
