Has anyone had any experience with Emerald Crabs eating clove polyps? I just added an Emerald Crab and got a small frag with a couple of polyps from my reefing buddy. After 2 days it started opening but the next morning it was gone.
I suspected the Emerald Crab as I've never had an issue with my fish eating coral before but at the same time I haven't noticed that any other coral has been nipped at since I added the crab.
I found one post a while back that said an emerald made short of their cloves.
So I wanted to check in - I have a new tank so I probably won't move the emerald across as I want cloves but I don't want to jump to conclusions as I have heard Emeralds are usually model citizens - but maybe they have a liking for cloves (it went through all my bubble algae in quick time).
Still I thought it would be worthwhile to find out if there are people who have experienced this to help others in future.

my clove will close up from time to time depending on water quality or tank maintenance kicking up stuff in the water column. i've never seen my emeralds picking at them, i wont say that they wont (every individual is different).
