Clove polyps dying?

I bought this frag from my lfs about 2-3 weeks ago and it's been looking like this ever since, it's looks healthy and open up but basically the root looks like it's taking a dive for the worst, it's like purple-ish... can someone verify if it's normal to look like that?

I would say that was normal, I couldn't find mine to get a pic though.
