Hey everyone, i recently added some clove polyps to my tank on Saturday, but they don't seem to want to open. I also noticed this weird looking stalk that appears to be a different coral entirely. My parameters are pretty stable and i've got the coral placed in moderate flow that isn't too intense.

Ph: 8.1
Salinity: 1.025
Nitrate: 10
Phosphates: 0.05
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
Calcium: 450
Alkalinity: 9

your parameters look good to me. Cloves can be finicky in a new environment, just make sure they aren't getting blasted with too much flow or light, and they should open up in the coming days/week.

Would you recommend removing the kenya tree?

Agreed with above, they take a while to acclimate. I've had a handful in my tank for about a year... only three stalks... this last month they've started growing.

If you don't want the kenya tree you can. or put it on another plug if you have the tools to safely do it.

I would, you could place the kenya elsewhere, or dispose of it if you don't want it. removes a potential factor to the cloves unhappiness.
Thank you! I'll most likely get rid of it entirely since i currently have one in my tank and i know they grow insanely fast
