Clove Polyps - Pruning?

So I have a clove polyp (my first coral added to the tank) and it’s thriving.

I put it on its own rock to stop it taking over everything, and so far it’s content to having conquered Clove Polyp Rock.

I’m curious though now that it’s maxed out it’s space on this rock do I do anything to keep it in check? Do you prune these things or do anything to keep them under control or is control just provided by limited opportunities to spread?

Where ever. you will see the "fingers" reaching out.
