Clove polyps Soft Coral

I'm looking to get a fast spreading coral that looks good but isn't too agressive and I'm thinking about getting either blue eyed clove polyps or neon clove polyps. I will separate my rock scape down the middle so they don't completely take over. Is this a good idea and are those good corals

Is there any coral that will stay on one specific rock and won't take over my rock but will still spread fast?

Pulsing Xenia can be isolated so it doesn't cover everything.

I think neon cloves would be ok. You want to avoid the blue snowflake polyps though. They are brooders that can end up anywhere in your tank. I don't think the neon cloves do the same thing but maybe someone else can say for sure.

Any of the larger clove polyps will work well, they don't sting other corals so even if they spread its not that big of a deal. They are easy to propagate also.

I just got 2 real cool morphs, one with pink tips and the other with yellow tips, and I put a small frag of each in my to get some movement and some coverage where acros can't be placed.

What's cool about cloves, not the little blue ones, but the 'daisy' ones is that you can easily pull them out of the tank frag the mat if they're taking over.

Yea that's why the only two I can get are the neons or the blue eyed :(

What about green star polyps?They spread extremly fast and can be isolated,Unlike xenias that can just detach and float around and attach anywhere it lands.Iv never had or heard of green star polyps doing that

The problem with green star polyps is the sting everything and if they get on your main live rock they are a nightmare to get rid of. They're fine on the back glass of your tank or contained on one rock.

it's an aptasia. A pest anemone.

I would go with the cloves over the xenia. Just know that the presence of cloves (I've head) tends to irritate zoas.
