Hi guys so my baby clown fish was sucked into one of the holes on my fluval evo tank managed to get him out he’s got a small cut on his side will he be okay he’s now swimming slightly on his side towards the surface is this something I should be worried about I’m planning on covering the hole with some water safe tape

Can you post a clear pic of the fish and the injury?

Bump for the OP, could one of the R2R #fishmedic crew take a look here please?

All you have on this tank is a hob filter? I would suggest to aim a powerhead at the water surface to help oxygenate the water. That looks like a tall tank which is harder to oxygenate. It looks like he's getting some air

What powerhead would you reccomend for it it’s the fluval evo 13.5

Something small like a sicce voyager nano, even one of the cheap powerheads on amazon will do, just need something to break up the surface and create ripples.

A healthy clown would not get sucked down any hole.
There may be something else at play which weakened him to the point where he got sucked in.

Eating?

This right here! Also add a screen of sorts on the outflow port. A few months back I tried to put in a smaller maroon male with my big maroon. To pair them that is. He was ran into exhaustion. He got stuck on the outflow port. I have a 25 lagoon. As stated in the post I’m quoting here. Something is not right. Have had maroons as small as 3/4 and they have never been sucked into any port on the tanks they were in.

Something is not adding up. Any other tank mates? Chasing him around! And as stated eating with no issues?

What the….. is that a messed up tank??? Looks like it got shot!!

How strong is the suction?? Was he using the back as a sleeping place??

He’s now sadly died so my guess would be it was stuck perhaps

Not to worry anymore the clown has sadly passed away didn’t really look right even when I first got it perhaps the trauma of the suction incident didn’t help
