I know how many people have a strong opinion on keeping a clown harem. This has been my life long dream in my many years of reefing. Despite the challenges that come with it I'm moving forward with a clown and bubble tip anemone hearem tank. I have manage to source plenty of anemones but I'm struggling locally to get about 20-25 clowns. I'm talking specifically juvenile clowns from the same clutch such as Black darwins with orange snout, or any with freeze or black ice kind. I'm hoping to find a breeder that could give a fair price for the set and putting out there to see if anyone knows anyone that may have them.

Greetings! I assume you were able to watch the Bulk Reef Supply video from some years back on their Clown harem? Pretty cool. Best wishes in sourcing enough stock.
Yeah I have seen the BRS videos plenty of times. It's a good start on some of the things they did to get good results. I have read other peoples stories on how they manage it. Compared to popular beliefs it's very possible by following some rules. And thank you!

So far I'm about 5 or 6 months in on this clown harem tank. Had a few challenges so far but overall it's been pretty awesome experience so far. I.shared a video link of the progress.

It looks great! I just put sand, rock, and water in mine yesterday and got it going. I messaged my anemone guy today and I’m getting 15 rainbow bubble tips to get the party started. I was going to buy 15 Oscellaris Clowns but my fish guy told me I should get 25 so I am mulling it over while the tank cycles.

That's awesome Paco! Can't wait to see your progress! I have about 25 smaller anemonees 2 large ones and 1 big
one. I still don't think it enough lol. However I know the smaller Nems will grow with time they always do. I was able to start my tank fast that only because I cycled my rock for 5 months prior to setting up my tank. I have 14 clown in it right now but I think I'ma bump it up to 18 or 20 here shortly. Ether way I'm stoked for ya I really wanna see how your turns out.

So I had a small dino outbreak just on the sand. Got it managed in about a week by cleaning the sand and increasing nitrates and Phosphate. So far Soo good clean up crew are hard at work. I also had 4 clown fish die from the same breather I originally got them from early on. Since then I had no deaths from 2nd breather I'm at 21 clowns in the tank now happy and healthy. Ether way as of now tank is stable and keeps maturing.

It looks like they may be dividing up into many smaller groups/pairs. Do you have a sense of how that is developing?

I had a trio of ocellaris clowns in the past , and have one now. I’m concerned that if I had multiple natural host anemones for them, they would split up into a pair and a singleton in the other anemone.

The mix and move around a lot, they don't seem to mind mixing at night when they sleep together. It's too early to tell. Ask me in about a year lol.
My experience with is with a pair of clowns (just one male and female) even if you have 10 Nems they stay together for the most part generally. They might move from nem to nem but just stay together. Not that I have a bunch of them they are just kinda doing musica Nems lol. They tend to like the bigger Nems for sure.
