Guys, my clown tang was eating this morning and I noticed now in the evening it has scrapes on its fins and was looking weak. I transferred to a Qt but it seems to be swimming towards the top, not sure why, it was at the bottom in the DT. My DT is currently in hyposalinty as it has ICH, this tang had some white spots but not a lot, in place it has some scars now. I have Seachem stress guard coming in tomorrow along with Selcom and garlic extract. I’m hoping those can help. If @vetteguy53081 or anyone else has any input I’d really appreciate it. I saw a post of Vetteguy regarding the seldom and Garlic and ordered as was his suggestion. Anything else I can do to help. I have kanaplex and Cupramine on hand.

Can you provide pics/video under white lighting?
Is fish breathing normal or labored?
I assume fish stopped eating?
Adding air stone may be if help

Just saw video. Hate to say but its fins are shredded as a result of aggression and fish has become moribund and may or may not make it due to weakness and damage. Also it appears thin - what were you feeding it ?

Should I administer the kanaplex or wait until tomorrow evening for the stress guard and selcom?

I don’t think kanaplex will do much as fish is porpoising at the surface in high distress
IF fish is eating which from video makes me doubtful, then you can utilize selcon to the foods and stress guard won’t do as the name implies

He may have air hunger. I would recommend you put an air stone or two in there to aggressively oxygenate the tank. At the very least it can’t hurt.

I have air stones but can’t find the machine that it hooks onto. I put a small sicce pump in there to help agitate the water, the pump return is also a couple inches above the water to add some oxygen. It seems to be swimming slightly normal but I’m going to wait till tomorrow morning. When I feed him. I see some Ich spots on him.

What can cause the scars on his fins? Other fish aggression, will adding more live rock help?

This is not rot or bacterial. Something has been beating up on it

Poor baby. Fingers crossed. I'd drop an air stone in and give him lights out just to reduce stress

I answered on the other thread. I asked for some follow up information, but I'm leaning towards tankmate aggression. If it isn't that, then some sort of physical problem, like being stuck in a filter or under a rock. There are very rare acute bacterial infections that can also shred a fish's fins like that, but those always start with some injury as well.

So some isolation and recovery time should get him back to normal. Should I add more live rock to the tank to give everyone their space? I sometimes see them fighting for space and then some fish just hanging out around the outside?

I have a RedSea 750xxl so there’s no real filter that they’re in contact with. I did get a dead coral which is like porcelain, would it be possible that they run against it to the point of this? I usually just see them around the bottom of it, never on top.

Yea I put a small sicce pump to agitate the water and partially covered the tank with a cloth. I’ll update you guys tomorrow.

I’m not liking the way fish is dancing on the surface, however yes…… if there’s a chance- acclimation box and good diet will offer best chance
Who is it fighting with?
Clown tangs tend to hide within rock structures

It’s now towards the bottom of the tank. There is another tang in the rock and the rabbit fish and fox face also like to hand out there. I’m thinking there’s not much space for the guy, so maybe get him a place of his own.
