Clown tang experience?

I've read all the horror story's but I was wondering if anyone had any success with them? I just got a 7" fat one that eats everything. I'm a bit nervous to put him in the DT due to all the stories. He will be going in a 180 with a Naso, yellow, hippo, sailfin, tomini, Mel wrasse, flame wrasse, starry blenny, Harlequin tusk, grama, mag foxface and 4 clowns.

It ay work out for a few years, but all the clown tangs I know of eventually caused problems.

Yeah mine have never been too bad, but I sell before they're 8" so I have no experience past that

Thanks....I'm torn what to do.....it's gorgeous but I know if he is a problem he will be impossible to get him out.

Perfect time for an upgrade! Is it a fish only? Sorry, don't really have anything to add but I've read the horror stories too. I think sohals may be the only one to have the clown tangs beat in horror stories.

When they get big, they get mean. Mine even started attacking my hand. :eek: They also are very susceptible to parasites, as are all Acanthurus Tangs. So, QT is a must.

If it sways you in any way, they are really easy to get out when they get super aggressive. Making a fish trap big enough for it out of eggcrate and zip ties and putting a mirror in the back of it. Clown tangs can't resist fighting their own reflection.
